"Fishing the Rio Costilla in a secluded canyon was a bit of paradise in the high country. Manny warned me that the native cutthroats were the fastest fish in the west and he was right. Although I had lots of takes I could only net about a third of those noble speedballs. Plus a couple of beefy rainbows. Challenging and loads of fun under the tutelege of this quiet gentleman."

"Earlier this year, a friend of mine and I were guided on the Red River by Manuel Sandoval. We hiked in from the hatchery parking lot and worked our way about a mile and a half down river and fished our way back to the car. While we didn't hook up with any big fish, we had a very consistent day catching browns and rainbows from 10 to 15 inches. Manny had us fish the entire water rather than the obvious holes as these fish hold in unlikely water. The Red is not for everybody. One has to be willing to bushwack and boulder hop in order to enjoy this type of fishing. Manny made the trip as user friendly as possible and I would not hesitate to use him again for public water fishing in the Taos area."
